Best place for ballet for a three year old ?

Looking for a ballet studio in the baltimore md area for my three year old daughter.

I also do not live in Baltimore, but I will add to the other answer's good advice.

To be honest they are not learning ballet at three, they are gaining motor development and getting used to a class environment. Teaching ballet to three year olds is a lot like babysitting. Just remember to keep your expectations realistic.

Most professional schools of ballet will not even let them into pre-ballet until they turn four. Professional schools tend to be non-profit so they can do this. Ballet for three year olds is a money maker for a small studio, but a legitimate studio will be upfront about what you are really getting out of it. The term pre-ballet is a hint, and if the class is for four to five it is also a hint you are dealing with a professional school. For a three year old look for classes labeled “creative movement” or “parent and me” and you will have a better experience. I would try the community center, and if he or she shows a talent or love of ballet look for a classical ballet studio that is not a “tap, jazz, hip-hop, and ballet school” but a pure classical ballet studio, there is a huge difference.

This is true from Baltimore to Portland.

I don't live in Baltimore, but I am a professional dancer and have been in and out of many studios, and thought I might offer a little advice. Before enrolling your daughter, go to the studio and watch classes, meet the parents of other students, and talk with the owners/artistic directors.
