If i start ballet now, then when will i get pointe?

I am 14 and i love ballet, but i have only take 1 year when i was 5. and i am thinking of starting again. when do you think i will get to pointe?

Well, technically your feet are grown to the point where you can safely go en Pointe. But your muscles aren't strong enough yet. You need much more experience, too. Make sure you are at a dance school that cares about their dancers, and won't put everyone en Pointe at the same time. It takes hard work to be ready for Pointe.

You just need to continue dancing, %26amp; take strengthening classes, or pre-pointe classes.

It depends on your progress. If you're fascinated with point, go ahead and get the pointe shoes and try them on. You can do simple things like plie, up to pointe with bent knees, straighten legs, and lower down to the heels. And reverse. Do it facing the bar and hold as necessary.

But to do a full pointe class, you should get a teacher's okay to proceed. You'll need to make sure you have the correct posture and strength for it.
I reached pointe when I started my third year of dance.
it depends on what dance studio you go to some require two years or less or more years
congrats on wanting to start up ballet again!

first of all, it depends on how strong you are right now and how much you are willing to work to get even stronger ankles etc.

you should probably talk to a ballet teacher about your goals when and if, you go back to ballet.

for now try to strengthen your ankles and feet by doing plenty of eleves and releves.

and dont buy pointe shoes without the approval of a teacher because you dont want to injure yourself.

good luck!
i stared when i was 10 or 11. im 13 and am on pointe, but really you should wait at least 2 and a half years before getting your pointe shoes. you HAVE TO HAVE TO HAVE TO make sure that youre strong enough to do it. trust me, you may want to start early but u WILL regret it if you start when youre not ready. everyone strengthens at different rates, so u may be able to go on pointe sooner, but who knows. take from a good teacher and trust that they will know when its right for you.

have fun!!!

p.s. taking one year when u were younger doesnt count for anything. sry :)
it depends.

you normally have to be on level 3,

but my studio its 4 or 5.

and most of the people on pointe at my studio are mostly juniors in high school.

i have been dancing on and off since i was about 2..

and i never really took ballet, a ton of jazz and lyrical.

and now im also in hip hop and ballet.. and i was just in the nutcracker in december, im on level 2/3.

and im 13 now.

=D
It depends on how strong your ankles are. Some dance teachers if they ask you they can make you do somethings to look and see if you are strong enough.
It depends.Probably a year or two. We can't really give you an answer to this question....so yeah.
It is great that you have had a year of experience but normally it is after about 3 consecutive levels of training - plus it will depend on your own style/progress and the strength of your ankles. You don't want to rush it if you are not truly ready for it or you can blow out your ankles and ruin future success with it. You should just get back in it and focus on one level at a time, you will be there before you know it! Good luck :)
There is really no way to say. Since you were 5, the fact that you did it for a year doesn't really make a difference now. It is entirely up to your teacher when you will eventually get on pointe. Don't rush it though, because if you start when you're not ready, you will truly pay the price and won't be able to dance as long. Since you are 14, I would say maybe 2 years. If you end up going to a studio that wants to put you on right away, switch studios. Wait until you are really ready and a teacher says you are to go on pointe. Some studios just put girls on pointe for the money since you would be taking additional classes. Just work hard and do exercises to strengthen your feet. You should get an exercise band to strengthen you feet like this one: http://www.discountdance.com/frame_set.p...

I have one and it is great!

I enjoy this video and thought you might like to see it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGufiv5PB...
I don't know when you'll get on pointe, but do it anyway. I've only been doing ballet for 6 months, and even though I'm not great I'm really enjoying it. So go for it!
